Hi,
My wife got pregnant during the month of Mar'07 - while we were in the US.Doctors in US told us that we are expecting twins. We were happy and celebrating and then the dreaded news came that my father in India is ill and is going to survive for only couple of months. We had to rush immediately to India. He expired last month. After performing his last rites as we were preparing to come back to US.My company informed me that - the project where I was working no longer required me.Now I have the following questions and I am hopeful that I will get correct guidance from this forum :-
1. My wife who is in her 6th month of pregnancy ( Her 6th month started just today ) - can she travel internationally during her 6th month of pregnancy.I mean are there any procedural complications, hassles like being denied entry at Port of entry , Airlines not allowing etc. for her.
2. She was consulted by the gynecologists in US for the first trimester - after which we had to come to India. Is there any possibility that the hospitals in US deny her admission on the grounds that she was out of country for 3-4 months starting her second trimester.
3. We are here on company dependant visa ( L1/L2 ) and under corporate insurance coverage. Will the insurance company deny her the reimbursements on this grounds that she was out of states for 3 months in between and they will not cover the remaining trimesters and subsequent cost incurred thereafter.
4. Lastly but not least - my company will make me sit on bench or they might ask me to pack my things and come back to India under which they might not allow me to have access to companies insurance coverage. In which case can I approach other insurance company privately and will they oblige to cover the cost of pregnancy in US.Secondly, Is it legal to stay in US on company dependant visa even though company has asked you to pack your bags.My L1-visa is valid till Feb'08.
Any help on the above points will be really helpful for me in taking firm decisions.
Thanks,
Praprit
