Hi,
My parents want to visit me in September.I am sponsoring them and have all the papers ready. My moms last name has been spelt wrong in the passport, thus my parents have the same surname but different spellings. Moreover all the documents like bank statements etc that my mom has have her original correctly spelt surname. Also my fathers surname in my moms passport's spouse name column has been spelt wrong. My fathers passport has his corectly spelt surname and my moms correctly spelt lastname. Therefore my parents have kind of a different surname(with the same pronounciation though like Kapur n Kapoor). I wanted to know if this could lead to a visa rejection? We dont seem to have enough time to apply for a name change in my moms passport. Could someone please tell me what can be done to ensure their visas are not rejected. My parents have to appear for an interview together n will be travelling together.

This may not really an issue, however I would sugegst you to get the name corrected in passport soon. Its one day servoce go to the passport office in person and get it done the same day.
This will be useful for you even in ffuture and avoid any problems.
