I-134 question related to items 9,10

Hello users,

In my case, I had submitted I-134 for my mother-in-law earlier but her visa got rejected. Now I am submitting I-134 for her again.

Item 9 reads: "That I have previously submitted affidavit(s) of support for the following person(s). If none, state none''

So shud I answer 'None' or mention my mother-in-law's name here..?

Item 10 reads: "That I have submitted visa petition(s) to the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) on behalf of the
following person(s). If none, state none."

I have applied for green card for myself (H-1B) and my dependent wife (H4) on employment basis. Should I answer 'None' or mention my wife's name.

10. None. ( since you have not filed any petition for any one, it is your employer who filed for your and family greencard)

Interesting that u say "None" for Qn9.. I thought if M-I-L had applied b4, u need to mention that here. Isn't that counted as "affidavit of support"? What if you had send papers for M-I-L and she got and then when u send papers for parents, then should the answer be "yes" for Qn9

We have the Same situation. For Question 9 for the affidavit of Support document.

this is the 4th time my Inlaws are going. We have prepared the affidavit atleast 4 times for them(though they never go the visa and I don' thtink it was even looked at). Earlier to that we had affidavit of Support for my parents and they were given Visa and had visited USA.


Appreciate clear thoughts experiences on what the answer should be for Question 9

I just applied for my parents' visa and filled those fields with the date of last affidavit I gave for them 3 years ago.

In fact this was their third time going for the visa(1 - rejected 2 - approved for 6 months 3 - approved yet to know the validity). Even the second time, I had filled it with the first affidavit date though they got rejected.
