I would like to know if i can bring my parents to US and then apply for their medical insurance from within the US as i plan to purchase the insurance from US ?

Is it mandatory that the visitors must carry medical insurance ( bought either from India or from US) at the time of their travel from India to US.?

Will they be questioned about medical insurance at the Port of Entry or does carrying the papers for medical insurance during their arrival help for the duration of their visa stamp at the Port of Entry in any way?

My father plans to travel along with my mother during aug last week mainly to acompany her as my mother does not know english and my father travelling along might help and my father plans to stay only for a month and wants to revisit US again after 2-3 months for a duration of 1-2 months again after my due date. Can some one please let me know if a person who stays for less than 1 to 1.5 months in his first visit to USA can travel again to US after a gap of 2-3 months for another short term duration of 1 month or so?

Thanks

I think you can do the insurance in USA from the date of their arrival to the date of their departure. This was how my son did to us when we travelled to USA

You can purchase insurance for them any time, either before they travel Or after they reach USA.
Having insurance is not necessary, it is up to you. It is not required by US immigration authorities, and no one ask for it. Since the cost of medical services is very high, it is wise to have a good insurance.
You can do your research and read more at : www.VisitorsCoverage.com

Your father can re enter USA with a valid visa and does not stay longer than the the date mentioned in I 94 unless otherwise you apply for extension.

Thanks for your quick responses. I have a doubt here.

If i plan to buy the insurance online even before my mother arrives to US starting from her travel date, i would not currently know for how long i need to purchase the insurance for as it all depends on the I94 stamping duration that my mother would get at the time of her arrival to US. Hence i am considering to initially buy insurance from India for a duration of 3 months starting from the travel date, and later i can buy further insurance for the remaining duration from within US once she reaches US. Please advise if this should not be okay for some reason or any other suggestions are also most welcome...

Thanks

All depends how you want to look at it. It's better to cover you parents while in transit as well as when they are in US. Generally policies taken from India may cover medical / other emergencies during the flight and in an unfortunate event of death, transporting the body back to native country. Go through what is covered and then make a decision

Not a problem , you can buy a renewal policy and initially purchase for 1 month and later you can renew, based on I94 date or your need.
Policy available in India are generally not renewal.
