Visitor visa appointment colliding with H1b renewal

Hi

My parents are to attend an interview sometime in Sep 07 end. And my hubby (who is on H1B) will be sponsoring them. But he has just applied for his renewal petition.

So, will it suffice for us to send just a receipt indicating that we have submitted for H1B renewal or do we need to wait until the visa gets renewed ?

Only depending on that do I want to make the appointment date. Please help me by clarifying as to how to go abt this issue.

Another problem is, in my dad's passport, the spouse name has been spelt wrongly. Do i fill his DS-156 with teh correct spelling or the wrong one as printed in his passport ? Coz, its worth mentioning here that both my Dad and Mom will want to go for the interview together. Am pretty confused as to how to deal with this too.:confused:

Get name corrected on the passport. As far as H1 extension goes, attach the current I-797 and a copy of renewal receipt
