Dear All,
I thank all of you for sharing excellent information usefull for everybody.
My H1 petition got approved by USCIS.
I working in hyderabad, but planning to attend delhi consulate for my H1 interviw instead chennai? will it be any prob for me ?what would be my justification for this to the interviewr if he asks why delhi consulate.
Pls suggest me.

Your I797 I think would mention consulate name , and if you are from hyderabad then It would be chennai .
Better attend in Chennai , If your documentation is complete you should not have problems

Hi,
First of all i would like to thank this site and members for providing very useful information..
my case is i am working in hyderabad and ready to go to chennai consulate but in the I797,the petitioner mentioned the class consulate as Mumbai.
Kindly let me know to which consulate should I proceed for the interview.

It will not create any problem,in my I797 consulate mentioned was Delhi and I appeared at Chennai,and they have not asked anything about it.

I have attended my interview on Dec 2006 and got 221(g) and still
my case is on hold.

Now the rules has been changed man..... the consulate has divided the regions... so in the site they specified to which consulate we have to attend and which state belongs to which consulate they had mentioned clearly.... thats why iam telling.....

Hi...That is not atall a problem....I have the "Chennai" on my papers but appeared at Delhi..got stamped...no question was asked about that....
Do not worry..goahead for what ever region u want...

Can I know which region u r wrking at?and wen did u get stamped?
Bcoz if location is selected as Andhra Pradesh it only shows chennai dates...
irrrespective of what is present in papers..

Even if u select AP as place of residency,system will show u other places
also,only thing is u have to try many times.

I too have the same Query of taking the slot in specific location. I have sent an email to VFS and they have sent me an email as their response. Thought that, this may help the people who are planning to take their slots.
Pls provide this Information....
