Hi all,

I am planning to sponsor my parents for visa in July. Their visa got rejected about 2 years ago for some unknown reason. At that time my brother was doing his studies in Germany. He has moved to US last year. When I was asking my parents about what they would answer if the officer asked them about their other son, they want to tell them that he is still in Germany. I know this would not be right but my parents say that all the people they know who have attended the consulate say that not all their sons/daughters are in US to show some ties back in India.

My mom is still employed in Central Govt job and my dad is retired. Can they still say and get away that one son still is in Germany ? Does consulate verify such information or is it not worth ???

Please advise. I am confused....

ABSOLUTELY, UNDER NO CONDITION should an applicant EVER lie. It's the worst thing they could do.
Just tell the truth, and let them decide what to do. If they got caught, it would be very embarrassing and also very damaging to their case for years to come.

I agree.
Also, your brother who is in US , must have specified your parent's and your name on his application. This all goes into the records that visa officers have access to. So, if they find contradictory information, it could be damaging to their future chances of getting a visa.
