Request for Multiple entry B2 visa

Greetings,

I am preparing sponsor documents for my parents to apply for B2 visa at US Consulate in Mumbai. Should I request for the multiple entry B2 visa in the invitation letter to the Consulate General by explicitly mentioning for multiple entry? Is it safe from visa granting procedure to indicate multiple entry is required for visitors visa which will be for tourism and social visit.

I dont think that going to have any influence on the visa officer, you may mention if you want.
