Urgent, Applying for parent's visa: I am on OPT

Does anyone has any experience applying for parents visa on while on OPT?
I am working full time and have H1 approval documents. Do you think there will be a problem or I should wait till my H1 kicks in in October?
I am planning on getting engaged this summer. Do you think I can use this as a reason to convince VO or just stick to tourism?

I dont see any problem.
OPT is not an issue as long as you have some earings and show some savings/fund to prove your claim to be sponsor.
