Renewed Passport, ottawa appointment already OLD passport

Hi,
I booked an appointment with the US Consulate in Ottawa with my old passport and then afterwhich renewed my passport to a new one, now will I have to change the information with nvars.com or should i leave it like that. Even if I do change passport number will I lose the appointment previously booked. Please help. Thanks.

juss call the consulate people and tell them the new passport number, they will update in their records then take the printout of the appointment letter with new passport number.

we did in the same way, its not a problem
