Hi,
I have given up hope for getting into the lucky 65000 for this year. Suddenly this monday my employer called and said that I have been selected into this year's quota.
Surprisingly he says that he doesnt have any tracking number with him and its with his attorney.
Sincerely, I do not trust him as he has been trying to avoid returning my deposit. So I need to know if someone else got the approval during this week??
Someone please help

Yes. I got to know about my lottery status about 4 days ago when my consultant received the receipt. Since it is my consultant who got the receipt, the nubmer was available with him.

Chances are that the receipt can go to the lawyer directly, as the case may be. All your consultant has to do is call up his laywer and get the number. You can then check the status of your petition online.

Cheers

USCIS would have encashed that cheque / pay order that your company provided while submitting your application / petition. On the returned cheque, there is the Receipt No. Tell him to give you this information.

And if it is with attorney, getting the Receipt no. from attorney is one phone call job.

If you say, returned cheque doesn't it mean case rejected? You mean that the employer gets a receipt number on rejection(in lottery) also... and that can be checked online.

you are totally confused with the process.
Returned cheque, means USCIS will send cheque to bank to clear it. From there employer can get receipt number mentioned on the back of the cheque...
employer will not get any receipt number for rejected cases
