I just took an appointment through VFS for my parents,in my mother's passport the surname is blank, but while filling DS 156 online for my mother towards the end of the document there were thre sections mentioing "Passport No","First and last name" (as in passport), "Surname" (as in passport), and they were all mandatory fields to be filled in. Since my mother's pp does not have any surname, i went ahead to fill as "Rao", as my mother's name is "Krishna Rao Shakunthala" which is given name in passport, while actually my mothers name is "Shakunthala Krishna Rao"( first and last name seems to be interchanged in passport). Now i am mainly worried that i have entered surname as "Rao" in DS 156 while passport shows blank, so please advice me as how to correct this, or what action i need to take, is there a way i can edit this information. Also the interview letter now shows as "Krishna rao Shakunthala Rao" which must have been only "Krishna Rao Shakunthala"

Please let me know since i have in a way given wrong information ( pp surname in empty) while i have filled as "Rao" in DS156,which i realized after filling the form that i must have atleast filled as "None" if the surname field was mandatory. Pleas suggest me, anyone has any ideas are most welcome, as i am worried about this. I was mainly focussed on filling the form as quick as possible, as i was concerned i might miss the slots, as i had been waiting for long for regional language apptmt. Please help me friends.

Also i missed to mention that i have filled in given name( which is as in paspport) i.e "Krishna Rao Shakunthala" for question 2 in DS157 where it asks for "First Name" and i filled wrongly as "Rao" in question 1 where it asks for "Last name". I feel that i must have written "Shakunthala" as first name and "Krishna Rao" as last name in DS157. as i am thinking that the name in Interview letter would have been taken from these first and last name sections ( Q no 1 and Q no 2 in DS157) is that true? I am thinking of cancelling this appointment and book again. Please advice me ASAP as i am concerned that i may miss the slots again
