MIL visa rejected - 05/08/2007

Hi,
My MIL applied for a visitor visa based on my sponsorship on 05/08/2007 at the Chennai consulate. I am on an H1B and my wife is on H4.
My MIL had asked for a kannada interview. She barely understood what was asked but answered all questions asked.
Here is the exact conversation before she got rejected with 214(b);
1. Are you going to stay with your daughter?
Ans: Yes

2. Is your daughter working"
Answer: No

3. Is your son-in-law working?
Answer: Yes

That was it. They did not look at any documents and the VO gave her form 214(b).

My MIL also indicated that 2 to 3 Kannada interview candidates that day also got rejected the EXACT same way.

How can we better prepare for next time?BTW my MIL is a widow and is 67 years of age.

Interview is the key.
Based on what you said , interview did not go through well, and thats when they dont ask many questions and just refuse.

analyse the whole case, discuss with her in details and try to get all minor details and try to dtermine what might have gone wrong.

Apply again, Make sure that she is better prepared for the interview.
