Here i would like to mention my experience. Few days back my parents went for visitor visa for which my sister sponsered. But at time of filling form without much thinking I filled "myself". This is big mistake you must fill the name of the sponser if relative. Only in case where sponser's finiancial position is not good or Your finaincail position is too strong you can break this rule. As a matter of fact If you fill myself in this question then there are very good chances that VO will not ask for the documents your sponser have sent you. As my sister have very good finance by filling self it was a sucide.

I have one question if anyone can help, In above case visa was refused 214 (b). Now we are thinking to reapply any tips. One more thing that lead to refusal is that before taking online appiontment I sent request for emergency visa mentioning graduation(14Amy) of my sisters daughter. Then they asked the passport no and fee. Meanwhile I tried to get interview in Punjabi no date was shown for somedays. Then I read that we can book interview in English and later ask for english. I got 10May , thinking that my request for emergency interview is in pipeline with request interview near 5 may I thought I will get it near 5-7may and ofcourse I can choose Punjabi. But then they refused. my parents had no option as they are poor in english they were able to apply properly to some question that they do not understand. So 214 (b). Now i want to reapply is it logical to apply on base of demanding interview in Punjabi? Please advise as in few days i need to apply.

If any one can help me in appling again please send me e-mail at milotapes@gmail.com or sms/call at my no 9815842547

Thanks for posting your experience; however, there is no 'rule' regards sponsorship. If the visitor has funds enough to pay for the trip, then its perfectly alright to 'self-sponsor'. There is no hard and fast rule that you need to have a sponsor in the US.
The second part of your posting is not very clear; did you hear from VFS about your request for an emergency appointment?
Do reapply for another appointment for your parents, but this time make sure you take it for the language they are comfortable in. If your sister is sponsoring their trip, make sure they have all the relevant paperwork (I-134, bank statements, etc). Go thru this forum, you will find many posts about the kind of questions asked; have your parents prepare well.
I hope they have better luck this time!

A graduation is not an emergency; it is only a problem because of poor planning. Imminent death of a family member is an emergency. Get your priorities in order.

Actually, it is. As per the US consulate in New Delhi, you can apply for an emergency visa appointment to attend the graduation ceremony of a grandchild.
