hello,
my parents-in-law had recently appeared for their scheduled interview at the mumbai consulate for a visitor visa. they had carried all the possible documents as mentioned in this website, along with all the documents that i had sent, being the sponsor. but unfortunately, when their turn came up, the officer looked at the visa application form and saw the request was for 6 months and simply said to my father-in-law, "how can u leave ur business for 6 months and go there?, you are not eligible" and gave the passport back. did not see a single document nor did they give any chance to speak or ask questions. a very frustrating incidence! all efforts in collecting the documents in vain. moreover, since their surname is shah, they were asked to queue up in a queue that was only for shahs and patels and almost everyone's visa was rejected in that queue. whatsoever their past experience might be with the shahs and patels about the immigration, the innocent people who purely intend to come to US for a pleasure visit and meeting children get suffered due to this. any idea, if any special precaution my in-laws can take while applying for the second time? ofcourse, they are going to mention the duration as 3 months instead of 6 months this time. appreciate any help from any previous experiences or any inputs based on your wisdom. thanks a ton!
