Murali please help urgently on the port of entry question

First I would say thank you for u r help in answering every ones questions.

My Grandmother got the visa from chennai via dropbox today.I am in the process of buying the ticket.Following are questions

1)Do I need to buy the return ticket now itself?
2)Is return ticket is needed at port of entry?
3)If I buy the return ticket now, can I have this ticket as openticket.
4)I'm not sure how many months she is going get at port of entry?she got the visa for one year from chennai.How can we buy the return ticket without knowing how many months we get?
5)what is the best way solving this issue ? in otherwords what is the best of buying the return ticket..

Congratulation for the visa grant.
1. Its not must but better to have return ticket, and at POE they may see the return ticket not always depends on the officer, its not a rule though.
2. Most of the airlines offer 6 months or 4 months open ticket, buy a 6 months open ticket and later if she plans to go early you or late you are covered for it.

Dont worry too much about the ticket issue, this is somehting which you can decide yourself, assuming that she gets max 6 months of stay in USA at POE at her I94.
