Hi
My mother got multiple entry visiting visa. She lives in vijayawada. When the passport was delivered ,the VFS visa delivery guy insisted for a Xerox copy of my mother’s passport and visa. He mentioned to my mother ,it is a rule and forced her to take the Xerox and give it to him. At that time my mother is alone in the house and she is not educated. Is there a new rule like this for Xerox or this is for fraud that we need to worry about this. Please confirm.

Thanks

I don't think it is a rule at all. You may find out from US Consulate website to find out what the present rule is.

It is not advisable to disclose passport details to any unautorized person, I would not do it..

Guys share.. anybody has similar experience

Hi
The passport delivery guy from VFS insisted that. My mother refused to give, but he said this is the rule. So my mother walked with him to the xerox shop and took a copy and gave it to him. (some of friends said ,this could be a new rule, If the passport guy really want the details ,he can take the xerox copies before delivering the passport itself). Now i a confused. Please advice.

The best thing is to call the courier office who delivered the passport and confirm. They can tell you and also they can enquire their employee as well who took the xerox copy. I don't think there shouldn't be any issue here.
