Hi,
I am a permanant resident of United States. My parents had received thier 10year B2 visa when I was on H1 B visa 4 years ago. They have been visiting US for the last 3 years and have been returning back to India within the allocated period of stay(no extension period). However, this year since my parents passport was expiring, my parents decided to get my mom's last name added on the passport. Earlier she "did not" have a last name and that was causing lot of problem while booking flights in US. Hence my mom added her last name to my dad's first name and renewed her passport. The issue now is that the the names in passport are different from the current visa. They are planning to visit USA this May. Would this be an issue for them with last name being added on passport? They have all legal documents with them except that they are not sure how to get this visa updated or they are wondering if that is needed as this is not a "change" in the name but an addition to the exisiting name. What would be the best possible way to get around this situation? I hear that there are some amendment forms that they can fill? Is that true? If so, can you help me find them?
