my mother was rejected under 214b a couple of days back. she was not asked too many questions - only why she was going to US, who was going to take care of her expenses, and who was there in the family.
my mother stays with my younger brother in chennai - her husband passed away 8 months back, and 2 other brothers are in london and gujarat. i think the problem must have been the fact that she is applying so close to my father's death - but we have provided property papers in chennai and the fact that my brother is living with her.
what more can I do to get the visa for 3 months? I am here on temporary assignment and am slated to go back in december 2004 - shd I produce an express letter from my employer stating the same? Will that convince them that she will not stay on here?
