Inviting parents on my new H1, which is not stamped

I need help with the following issue.

I came to USA on H4 in Jan 2003. I got my H1, in October 2003. Now, I work and I do not have the H1 stamped on my Passport yet.
In the meanwhile, my husband's H1 is expired in May 2004 and he has applied for extension. That makes my H4 expired.

Now, I want to invite my parents.
If I send my documets, my visa is not yet stamped, but I do have my I-797 which is valid for next 3 years. This being the case, is it possible for my parents to get a visitor visa ?

Has anybody faced such problem before ?

So , many times the consulate is particular about a vlaid visa stamp of a visa holder sponsor.
Depends on the officer handling your application.
If you are in hurry, I would say go ahead and let them apply and it may work out.
