Yesterday my cousin sister visa got rejected at chennai consulate under 214(b). The office told why so much importance for cousin sister and rejected visa. She has all the documents shows the ties to India, but the officer didnt even look at those documents and just rejected because of cousin sister (thats what we understood from the officer, but we are not sure about the exact reason). I am planning to reapply her visa. Any suggestion to handle this situation. The rejection just says 214(b), will they record the reason (for eg. in this case due to cousin sister). Shall I ask her to tell sister instead of cousin sister next time. will they refer old visa application. One way she is my aunt also. Can I ask her to tell that. How soon u can scheudle the next appt, is it safe to schedule soon or late. How many time u can reapply visa, becuase the path2usa website says u can apply only for 2 time, if its get rejected both the times, then u cant reapply until 2 years.
Any inputs is highly appreciated.

Yes, they may have the record of applicant.
Do not tell diffferent reasons/relationship while re-applying thay may not work weel or may work as negetive if the interviwing officer is same.
So can certainly re-apply as many times as you want ( the info you reffered was sue to old file on path2usa, which is now updated thanks for brining it up)
The general rule is after 3 working days of refusal.
Apply again in few weeks, analyse the situation see if there is any Gap or any hting elase you can prepare as a document. you can provide an additional letter emphasizing, on her return back to home country.

Thanks Murali for your prompt response. We really dont know what other documents we can provide. She has taken the following documents.
1. Letter from her husband letter indicating that he has no objection for his wife to visit me.
2. Letter from his husband's employer and salary certifcate.
3.An affidavit of the house property and ties back home.
4.Bank statement
5.For her kids she gott bonafide school certificate indicating that they studying etc.
6. Family photo including her mother to expalin that she depend on her
The problem is the offcier didnt even see any of these documents just rejected becuase of cousin sister relationship. The officer view is why so much importance for cousin sister. Eventhough my sister explain the importnace and how close we are, the officer is not ready to accept that. Do you have inputs to solve this situation.
We are planning to send a letter expalining the relationship why its important to bring her here. Will that be helpful. Do you know any who faced same situation.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks
