External HDD on flight?

Hi,

Just want to ask whether we are allowed to hand-carry external Harddisk (HDD) on the flight to State?

I've been aware that they are quite strict nowadays, such as: no water bottle is allowed in the flight, hair gel or such a thing...

How about laptop and external HDD then?

Anyone who has experience on this... please kindly help..

no issues, I always carry my laptop and HDD along with me. Just let them know what it is.
