How much is general Time Period given in I-94 for Visitors ?

Hi,
I would like to know how much time to stay in US ( is it 3 months or 6 months ?) visitors get in I-94 ? Also if it is 3 ..is it possible to get it extended to 6 months ?

Genenrally 6 months in majority of the cases(99%) for tourist B2 visa.
