Indian Visa for Newborn

I have a 2 month old baby.I will getting his pasport in 2 weeks.Once I get it, I am planning to go for a visit to India.

What are the procedures for applying for Indian Visa?
How long it will take for that?

My daughters (8 month old )Indian visa is expiring on 26th April 07 and we have return ticket to NY on 27th april 07 so what we should do ?
Do we need to increase visa by 1 day ? please reply ...
