Hi All,
My friend who was working on H1B successfully transferred his H1B to another company but got a part-time offer of 20 hours/week from his old company and is interested in doing that. My questions are:-
Are H1B holders allowed to work for two companies at the same time...one Full time and one Part time?
Are H1B holders allowed to work for more than 40 hours a week? (In this instance 40+20 = 60 hours for two employers).
If allowed then whats the process of holding valid status with two employers(Full time and Part time).
Truly,
Mansi

A person can work on one fulltime and one parttime at the same time provided he has H1 for both jobs - one for fulltime and another for parttime. However, keep in mind that if his old employer wants to use existing H1 for parttime, they must obtain a new LCA for parttime job.

u can file a concurrent h1b petition for a part time job - this h1 petition is cap exempt. The i129 / lca must show the part time hours.

I mean the above case is where a person already has a full time job with one company and a part time with other.
Can a person do only part time job with his H1B?

I have been told that one does not need H1-B visa to work in a part-time job.
The part-time job employer will pay money and provide us 1099 report at the end of the year. We have to pay tax to IRS for this extra income in 1099 report.
Is that correct?
What would be the other implications for filing Greencard?
