Hi

My 5 month old was born in USA. I am planning to send him to India with my mother for few months. I have 2 qs.

- I am not able to accompany the baby for the India trip . Is this a cause of any concern. I heard somewhere that if the baby is not accompanied by the mother it sometimes creates problems.

- My baby has pio card, is that enough for going to India.

- any useful travel tips to make the long journey more comfortable for the baby

thanks
Nirmala

Provide an authorization letter signed by both of parents and if possible notarize it.

hi,

PIO card is the "person of Indian Origin" card.
It is visa for India and validity is 15 years.

We took this for our dauther, who is US citizen.

U can find more information in this site.

Hi,
In continuation to the question,
we are planning to send, our 20month old kid with one of our friends as we are expecting another baby soon and unfortunately visitor visa got rejected for our parents.

Could you please let us know if any other documents are required apart from notarized authorization letter?

Please help us out by replying asap.

Thanks a lot of the guidance that we receive by path2usa.

Thanks
