Hie all! I got married in India and came here in Sunnyvale(near SFO, California) just abt 2 months

back on H4 visa. I want to pursue some studies here, and wish to sign up preferably some degree

course (regular or part time) or may be any course making use of the below qualifications and

experience i already got. Now i need to know, what do i choose and how do i know about the courses,

admissions, and eligibility etc in universities here..

10+2 Commerce
BCom(Pass)
MCom (2 semesters)
GNIIT(3 Yrs Diploma in Computers from NIIT)
CFE,CFM (2 Yrs Certificate course in French language from Alliance Francaise)

Plus..
about 1.5 Yrs of teaching experience in different Schools as a Computer Teacher.

THat makes 12+3+1(one yr of Mcom) ie 16 yrs of teaching.. But wd that incomplete Mcom do..? i

wonder..!!

Anyway.. i wish to pursue some career in education like v have BEd in India. What's equivalent to

that here and how does one go about it..? What's the prerequisite?

It would be really great if somebody would provide me with certain piece of information which i can

make use of be it teaching or anything u wd suggest.

Hi there,

I don't have the details of an exact process for you, but I have some tips that may lead you in the right direction.

1. If you have a university with graduate program near by, just call their graduate admissions office. You can pose the Incomplete-M-Com questions to them. They will let you know if its sufficient or not.

2. There should be a middle school or high school near by. Again, call them or visit their head-of-the-school. Ask them for guidance on how to develop a teacher's career in your state?

3. Looking at your foreign language skill, you can also look into International-studies or similar program as well.
