221g refusal

Hi,

My parents went to Mumbai Consolute for their visitor's visa interview today. My mom got the 10 years multiple entry visa without being questioned. On the other end, dad was asked couple of questions related to his and mine work. Co-incidently we both work in the similar field of products but the nature of the work differs completely. After answering couple of que that were asked, he was just given the 221g sheet mentioning;

"Your application for a non-immigrant visa has been placed in our PENDING CATEGORY. Per section 221 (g)of the US Immigration and Nationaltiy Act further documentation or processing is needed before we can make a final determination on your case.

> When processing is completed on your case, someone from the consular section will notify you to return the Consulate General on any workday at 10:00 A.M"

a) what will be the next step from here?
b) do we need to take an appointment again and go through the entire procedure?
c)as my father is involved in accounts responsibilities and not at all with the technical side it seems like some kind of misunderstanding but please let me know if there could be any other reason.:confused: that we should be careful about in future.

a) what will be the next step from here?

ANS: Do as they say, if they have aksed for any more docments provide them else just wait and watch, if case is genuine it will be approved, its just a matter of time. Just do a followup every after 1 month.

b) do we need to take an appointment again and go through the entire procedure?

ANS : No, they will inform you if there is a need.

ANS : No need to worry, it is their formal process of verifying information, if case is genuine it will be approved, take it easy
