How to save application?

Hi all, I got the following information on this web site about "HOw to schedule an appointment!

Save your Application

You can save your application for a maximum of 7 calendar days. Within this period, you may retrieve your application and continue to schedule your appointment. If you fail to confirm your appointment within 7 calendar days, your application will be deleted. You will have to re-enter your application all over again.

1....Can u please tell me how to do the above(TO save application)?
2..DO I need to fill form DS-156 at the time of taking online appointment?

These are the following steps to clear your doubt
1. First you should see some available dates in vfs site for your required type of visa and language
2. If you find some availability then click on Apply for non immigrant visa link in the top of vfs site menu
3. It will you guide you through the list of questions like pp no, date of birth, HDFC receitp no, mothersname like that
4. Next you will be getting on D-156 form to fill up . once you are done with this you will be having two buttons 1. continue 2. save form and exit
5. Here's what you decided either save the application for future use until you get your required date or click on continue button to continue with your required date.
