Once you are done with barro...solve kaplan cd.

Once you have scores ready .....start browsing universities using www.gradschools.com or www.petersons.com.
use information provided at www.phd.org for rating universities.select average to high univs depending on your scores
once shortlisted univs ask them for forms or whatever details.
visit your profs at your parent inst. and get many neat & clean reco letters for yourself. Ofcourse you have to ask for transcripts from office.
Have the required certificate of finance from your bank(one day or actual...you know..I don't know how rich you are. If you really do have us$27,000 in your bank..are you married??8)

Hey buddy I did'nt meant 60,000 as gre fee. Actually GRE +TOEFL comes around 11,000 or so...check the latest fee from the website.You need money to apply to universities. I mean if you have great scores still you need about US$90 as application to each univ.
This is not a great ammount..you will need the real one to get financial certificates of abou US$ 15,000 or so.This is to show to universities and later at the visa office.Aid for engineers is nowdays not that easy particularly beforehand. Everybody tells you can arrange one once you clear one sem at univ. But till then you gotta have Dollars!!
Why don't you do one simple thing.Whereever you are visit nearest IIT or IISc(BAngalore) etc.Just walk inside hostel and ask for guidance about GRE and aplication.If you are friendly chap you can walkout with old vocab books,GRE CDs and plenty of tricks of the trade regarding univ ranking, SOPs,Getting financial certificates from agents etc.

It will give you all the infromation all the possible US Education Degrees and also the Fees, University Name, Location and other required details. OR you can join the nearby Community college in your resident city/state.

Thx Dgroody!Ur advice are real good.I need someone like u to keep on boosting me for this exam.
I wud have never thought of doing studies in US had my husband being not crazy for his wife to have a job and for job i need some US degree as i don't have industry experience.
By,thee way have u taken GRE or TOEFEL.
I am in US so can't go to IIT's etc.

Went through all your queries about GRE & TOEFL .TO get things going first decide when u r going to take the exams , get the books & start working whenever u got time.Give urself some time,a comfortable time like a month or 2.If u take 2 to 3 tests online which is available on the net for free,download the sample papers ,give a try ,u will know your area of weakness & then start in that direction.Believe me I took 5 solid days of preparation & got 700 in quantitative, 435 in verbal 4.5 in written --GRE.If I had prepared better probably my verbal culd be good.Most colleges accepted my scores
Toefl 453 & 5 in written preparation time 7days.Iam working full time .
Its all in your head that u can do it.People make a big scene as if thats the only thing in the world & scare u telling lots of stuff.You have to check it out first & see ur capability .Thats all .have confidence & thats the only thing.
