Do we need to carry earning statements to Consulate?

I'm sposoring my mom for visitor visa.
dad is busy with his work and can't come here.

what wld the best answer if visa officer asks my mom like,

"why your husband is not accompanying you?"
Can she say he is busy at his work? OR he cldn't get leaves???

Does she need to carry earning/salary statment of my dad to show to the officer as proof.
