Drop Box & Chennai Visa Appointment Question

1) I like to bring my parents to USA. My dad is 60+ and my mom is 52. Since my dad qualifies for the drop box, when he applies for the visa, can he include my mom's visa application also in the drop box?

2) Tried to make interview appointment over the web, it wouldn't let me any single date (Chennai consulate), does that mean all the dates have been filled up? If that is the case when will they open up the next available dates?

I have found the answer for my drop box question from other posts. Looks like my mom can't apply in drop box.

Has any one tried to do this way and got shot down?

ur mom is not eligible for drop box, so she can't . but both of them can apply by personally appearing together. also chennai is moving slow, i think they r allowing to use calcutta or new delhi . see ttsvisas.com

I think they wouldn't allow just anyone to go to NewDelhi or Calcutta, it is only for geniune urgent travellers. Thanks for your reply though.
