I am an Indian citizen resident in the US. I initially came here as a student and last year I changed by visa type from F1 to H1. I need to visit India in March 2007 and would have get my H1 visa stamped then. When I checked the vfs website for available appointment dates they are presently showing only the months of Jan and Feb for Mumbai and Jan only for Delhi and Chennai, with the available appointment dates.
My question is that, do I just wait until the calendar for March is posted before I can do anything about my application? Is it possible to fill out all the relevant details in the application EXCEPT the interview appointment date and save it until I can come back to it and select a date for March 2007 whenever it becomes available? This is my first experience with this online application process since it was introduced so I would really appreciate any helpful tips and suggestion. (I have already completed the process of paying the fees at the HDFC bank in India and obtained the necessary barcode number).
