Hi I have a question to the guys out there in this forum.
I went to the US consolate for attending the interview for the B1 - US Visa.
At the time of my interview I was refused pending administrative processing and received a pink handout and was given an ID and URL to check my status
URL : http://chennai.usconsulate.gov/adminprocess.html
Its been 45 days since I have got any response from the US consulate.
Kindly suggest an idea what can I do further.
Those who have come across this scenario can help me out please by shareing their ideas.
Waiting for your responses.
Thanks,
Mohamed

Hi Qasim,
I've been thru that stage with my father's visa. The good thing is your visa is not flat out refused, the flip side is the wait is long. Do search for threads under my name. In my father's situation I called and emailed the consulate every week, searched on internet for the dept of state's no and called them too. I dont have that no now, but it's posted on one of the threads. It took them 4 months to process and delay of 2 months to get in touch with us.
It's hard to be patient when u r in the stage of waiting, but it'll come through. The homeland security dept will basically run thorough security clearance in thier own pace.
Keep us posted of ur status.

Hi Qasim,
Did you go to the Chennai consulate. If so, thier email id is ChennaiNIV@state.gov
I assume you were there for a visitor's visa. If u read other sites line
i m m i h e l p.com, there are other memebers who posted htier experiences, in very rate circumstances people get thier status back in 80 days. On an average it takes 4 months. But dont hesitate to call / email the consulate and ask for details.
Keep us posted.

This is the reply I got from them
==================
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your email.
The time taken for a visa section to hand over the passport depends on the circumstances such as work load, intervening holidays etc. Hence, a definite turnaround time cannot be assured.
Thanking You,
Regards
