Passport pickup/receiving - Need clarification

Hi All,

I have a quick question. One of our friend's parents had their interview today at Chennai Consulate and they got visa. Since they are from small village near Madurai, they gave my in-laws address (chennai) to receive the passport. Can my mother-in-law get the passport for them or do they need to be present?

Or if they need to pickup, when should they pickup from VFS office?

Please advise.

if they have VFS recipt they can ..
Contect VFS for info
