Name Change in Passport

Hi

My spouse has her family name as last name on the paasport since she applied and got the passport before marrying me. After marriage immediately she went for visa stamping ( we have not realized it would be better to change the name).
And she got the visa with her family name as last name on it.

Now she is in India and I want to change her passport last name.
If she did that is it going to be a problem while travelling to USA because there is a name difference?Can I ask her to carry marriage certificate for proof that she is married to me?

Hi,

Marriage certificate is enough. But why to take the last chance. Go ahead and do name change. Apply under tatkal scheme and you get the new passport within 8 days time. Only think u need to pay a little extra i.e Rs 1000 (For name change) + 1500 for Tatkal processing.

I did the same by paying total Rs 2500/-
