widow mother and son on OPT

Hi,

Interview Date - JAN 5, 2006

I have my graduation ceremony on Feb 2 and would like my mom to attend. My OPT starts Jan 20 and I have a full time job from Feb 5. My mother is a widow.

Since I was uptil now a student, I will not be able to support my mom. She will be sponsoring her trip itself. I will be making a CA statement which will show her account balances, FD's, bonds etc,

I have asked my school to make a letter inviting my mom to the US for the graduation ceremony. I have the letter with me.

MY ISSUES .....

My mom is a housewife. She is not a income tax payee. Is that a problem.

Do I need to make a formal invitation letter from me, addressed to my mother, whom I am inviting to US.

Do I need to make an application/letter from me to the Mumbai US consulate, requesting for issuing a visitor visa to my mother.

Please help. I need help urgently,

Hi I have made almost all docs. But I am still torn between who should sponsor. I was originally thinking that she will sponsor herself. Including the assets, the CA Statement is showing around 50 Lakhs. Is this enough. I just graduated. But I have around 6300 in my savings account in the US and I will start full time in Feb from which I will earn 68 k per year. What shld I do. Shld I say that mom and I are sponsoring here trip./

Do you have the format of graduation invitation letter from school? planning to get one from dean to invite parents... thx..
