Payroll.

Hi Senior Members,

I came to US on 14th Oct on H1B and till now I am on bench (for some personal reasons). I have asked my employer to run a payroll for me from 16th Oct (Because 14th/15th October were Sat/Sun) to 15th Decemeber. They run their payroll on 15th every month. My question is...can they run a payroll for two months at once...(I got my SSN on 14th Nov, so i guess it can be done).

if the company policy is to issue paychecks every 2 weeks or monthly then u should expect 2-3 paychecks based on ur company pay period.

Hi Simran,

The Company runs its payroll monthly. It will be 2 months on 14th Dec when I landed in US and I want them to run a payroll for these two months. They run their payrolls on 15th of every month. Can they run a payroll from Oct 14th to Dec 14th now? Or are their any complications with that because one part of that payroll (from 14th Oct to 14th Nov) for all the company employees has already been done.

Hi Mansi,

I have a doubt of my own before landing to US. Are u getting offered salary while on bench or just a lumpsum allowance till u get placed? I have no clarity on this issue from my employer.
