Hi, I am currently on H1B and planning to bring my parents for a visit to US on Tourist Visa. My birth certificate is in Gujarathi.

1. What is the process for transalation of birth certificate ? Can it be anybody fluent in English & Gujarathi.. Or should it be some professional transalators ?

2. Should that transalated letter by notarized ?

3. Can the transalation be on a simple A4 while paper or any legal document ?

4. My birth certificate does not have my name. Therefore is it OK if I supplement this with my School TC or 12th marksheet that has my Date of Birth and my name.

Thanks in Advance.

Yes, anybody in fluent in Gujarati and English can translate in A4 size paper. It need not to be notorized. However, the translator must provide affidavit stating:

I, John Doe, am fluent in English and Gujarati. I hereby certify that I have translated/verified the following document(s) which is/are attached to this Affidavit:
1. Birth Certificate

I further certify that, to the best of my knowledge, the attached document(s) in English is/are a true and accurate translation of the attached document(s) in Gujarati.

Alternately, look for the "translation" services in your local yellow pages. If you are living near big metropolitan area, most likely you will get one in Gujarati.
