Hi,

My father's visa application got rejected yesterday.

These were the questions:

1) Why do you want to go to US?
Reply: I want to visit US for tourism purposes

2) How many children you have?
2 children - 1 son and 1 daughter.
My daughter is in Bangalore, India. My son is in Dallas, USA.

3) How long has your son been in USA?

4 months.

No more questions asked. Visa got rejected.

I presume, it is because of my duration of stay here (4 months) which caused the visa to get rejected.

Now my question is:

My cousin brother has been in US for the last 5 years. I am planning to reapply for my father with my cousin brother providing the sponsorship documents. Please advice.

I think you make hurry, just wait for some time, and as far as cousin's question is concern donot take such step now, it will give wrong signal to VO.

Yes. It's common sense. How many US tourist places did you visit within this 4 months? VO did not find any justification of your father's "tourism purposes", when you, being sponsor, landed in USA only 4 months back. The second reason that financial reason. As you arrived in USA only 4 months back, VO assumes that you don't have enough savings. Hence, your parent can become public-charge while visiting USA.

I have seen many visa refusal just because they tried to sponsor too early after landing in USA.

Bad idea. Consulate people are not dumb. They will find out previous visa application record and will figure out the trick.
