Hi all
I am sponsoring my parents.
Is the Bank Account Verification Letter a must?
My husband who earlier sponsored my inlaws has been saying that its not required. He had just sent the Bank Statements.
I dont want to leave any stone unturned.
Would appreciate help.
Thanx

i sent bk. verification letter for my mom and did not send for my dad. both of them got visas. get the letter from your bank if you have time.
hope you don't have an account with Bank of America.
Good luck!

I suggest to get the letter if you have enough time. If not, compensate it by appending more 'monthly statements' than typical (6 monthly statements vs. 2-3 monthly statements along with the letter).
Sometimes the VO doesn't even ask for sponsor documents, sometimes he asks for them but doesn't see them, but if he chooses to see the sponsor's folder, we don't want to take a chance of not sending the bank letter. It is not a 'mandatory' document, but it is nice to send it if you have enough time to get it from the bank.
If your account is with Bank of America, please search through other threads in this forum to find out the best way to approach them to get the letter in the fastest possible way. (I myself replied to several threads in the past regarding Bank of America)
