One of the main objectives of desis coming to this country is to make money. No one cares about the quality of life. A majority of desis have one thing and only one thing in mind is how to use this country to your advantage and make money. Also there is a huge lack of respect for the general people, especially African American people. Also what I find very disappointing is when desis earning 60-85K/year living in 2 bedrooms shared by 5-6 people. Common people get a life!!! Spend some money on yourselves, on better clothes, getting your own room and stuff. What happened to quality of life? I find it very funny when you see desis driving good cars yet living in 2 bedrooms shared by 5-6 people in the most pathetic conditions. Its a damn shame......

I dont know which group you belong to, but it may be the student group that lives like that or maybe the bachelors. For the rest of us in America, I can vouch for the 200 odd people I know that no one is living in the conditions you describe....Many of us have our own homes too and live well like any average American. We have higher purchasing power too as a group. My own experience is that is hard to put away even a penny at the end of the month....but maybe you are talking of a different group altogether!!!

Most of us forget what for we came here. To earn!
Man is not a Satisfying animal. He wants more and more.
When we start to come to US we all calculate 1$xRs 47 and multiply every time. One you are here you are stuck in buying cameras, cams, Car computer, rent, credit card, loans and mode gage which take years to Knockoff the these things and the saving are reduced. Every now and then you have send money to parent. The saving becomes Zero. If your are laid off
You don't even have money to buy tickets.

By staying in-group save lots of money. But there should be proper tuning between friends.

I do agree with most of you who are against people living together.

But I also want to say that sharing an apartment whi your friends (not the 4 people in 1 bedroom apt, I am talking about 2 friends sharing a two bedroom apt) helps at time.

Living alone may lead to depression and other bad habits. If you have someone to talk to after a days work it feels good.

well human tendency is to save money. I am sure people like jackhardy must be bargaining on vegetable prices back in India, why do so? Here you just enter a grocery store and pick up vegetables, put them in your cart and checkout, why dont you bargain???? Its a good habit to save money, whatever amount that is.

I remember, as a student we were 4 people staying in a 2B 2B apt and it was sufficient for us coz all we did at the apt was sleep and eat. But later on when I started earning, I got my own apt and started staying by myself. Really didnt care about the expenses, as long as one is happy and satisfied with what one is doing, no one has absolutely no right to comment on it.

Have a good one!

for the first time, i agree with you. Desi's here, somehow tend to put themselves in a very high thinking mode and try to be judgemental of others at every instance. Why r they like this, why r they like that, why cant they think like this....dont live in areas where african americans are it's too risky...omg, if we are scared puppies, everything around us seems dangerous.

If we are anymore skeptical than we are our brains would just fly off the wall....just let it be....

If your main objective is to save money, you cannot have good quality of life in the US. If you buy a new house, new car etc. nothing will be left by the end of this month.
By spending most of the money you make on lifestyle, you are playing right into the hands of US govt. which wants you to spend everything before retirement, such that you end up contributing more than you consume. This way funds will not leave the US.
Congrats to brilliant desis who have figured out that its possible to save a lot by cutting down on housing and transportation. They will be in a position to give some help to their kids.

its none of any one's business how others live. whether they earn 50K or 100K, its absolutely there wish how they want to live, as far as its not harming other people they should not pass any type of comments on any one....
