Hi,
Is there any chance of denial of visa after the VO takes the passport from the applicant, after a successful interview? When I checked the status of passport delivery I could see that the Passport has not been handed over to the VFS. What does that mean? How long will the consulate take to hand over the passport to the VFS after stamping? Please answer if anyone had similar experience. In how many days we get the passport by mail? Is there any provision for us to receive the passport at the consulate.
Regards,

Hi

Yes you can collect your passport on next day . You need to call VFS for same.

Also, it may take a day sometimes to handover the passport.

It happens with me also, next day they have given the passport *(DELHI)
Visa was stamped so need not 2 worry

Hi,

My wife attended her H4 visa interview on 16-Nov-2006, but still we have not got the passport. When I checked the VFS site it says "your passport has not been handed over to VFS". I think due to large number of people coming for interview on single day it takes some time for them to prepare the passport and send it across.

Once VO takes the Passport implies that Visa is approved otherwise they'll return the Passport. The Passport can be collected from the Consulate next day or will be sent thru Blue Dart Courier next day.

Hi,

My wife has got her passport today. I think due to crowd US embassy is taking some more time to process the visa application and give the passport to VFS.
