Once the appointment is confirmed, the interview location is clearly mentioned in the Interview Letter. Download the interview letter and go to that address for Visa Stamping.

Incase the appointment is scheduled online then you need to follow the below procedure after the scheduling the interview:

Kindly logon to our website www.vfs-usa.co.in, click on “download details of a confirmed application” click on the ‘checklist’ to create a packet, forward your documents at least five working days prior to your appointment at the VFS application centre according to the checklist generated online which is visa class specific.

Did you get any answer regarding meaing of representative in VFS Mumbai? I asked question to VFS and here is what they replied:

Courier have been stopped ,hence no couriers are being accepted at the US visa application centre. Hence You need to send (submit) your documents in person or through any of your representative to the application centre minimum five working days prior from your scheduled interview date.

People who is not from Bombay and none of their friends in Mumbai then they need to stay in Mumbai for one week. If we are going to India for 4 week vacation then we need to stay in Bombay for one week because we need to submit document 5 days before the schedule appt. date.
Looks like this procedure is friendly only for the people who is from Bombay or Pune.
