what makes you thing husbands are cheap
what makes you such an authority on other people and assume that husbands are cheap?
What you're probably not realizing that it reflects very poorly on you and your pathetic attitude.
I do not know about cheap husbands, but I do know about cheap wives..
Why do all desi wives first convert the price to rupees ..crib about it being expensive and then buy it? This way you will never have fun shopping or enjoying what you have shopped. Grow UP, once in US you are earning in USD so spend in USD like the americans.. atleast on basic needs! Anything that comes cheap is most of the times not the best .. includes Wives and Husbands.

If you wives converts $ to Rs conversion before shopping buying, here is simple solution, tell her that you earn Rs 3,00,000 lahks/month (asuuming 6,000$, as compared to Rs 20,000 in India ), so now stuff should look dirt cheap !!! 50$ is Rs 2500 out of Rs 3,00,000.
Even american goto UK he complain abt how expensive it is .. so relax there is nothing so great abt america or americans .. if u see african american in NY they beg for money .. so its no great.. when america kick ur butt from job and u get jobless then u will know the value of true money wherever u have ..

So only African Americans beg for money? How dare you! You have truly been watching too many American movies. I have been in NY city where there are a lot of bums, White Americans included. How dare you speak of my people in that way. Many foreigners view the stereotypes of African Americans as true, and they are NOT true at all. Those stereotypes only exist to justify slavery and the superiority complex of oppressors. You should also know of this because of the way that darker skinned individuals are viewed in YOUR country. It is all RIDICULOUS in any country!

In my opinion some of the people in this forum have passed some really racist comments which is really not nice.
Its most indecent and rude to pass such comments.I think all of us here should really think before we speak and it just reflects bad on us as a community. You can not discriminate people on the basis of thier skin color.
I feel if educated people like us can get down to such low thinking then how do you expect not so educated people to have any sort of respect...its important to give respect in order to gain some. You shouldn't then complain if people pass comments on your brown skin and your funny accent.
I think it just doesn't says anything good about our thinking.Every country, soceity and community has its positives and negatives and only its upto us to make the best out of what we have.
P.S I do not in anyway want to rebuke any particular member, but this is my veiw about the way this thread is proceding.

...............NDelhi, while i agree to the message u were trying to put in ur last listing..........i would like to quote something u said.....
"You shouldn't then complain if people pass comments on your brown skin and your funny accent."
well! this sounded very racist indeed, and assuming........i say, "assuming" , u r an Indian.......it's even surprising.
forget the "brown" color, but "funny accent"!!!........well! do u think our accent is funny? be it any country and any language, if the natives of that country find someone else outside of their nation speaking that language, they will find their accent "different". saying "funny" accent, in itself, is being racist.
I believe that an American will speak English in a "different" accent than a European, and so would someone coming from India, even though they r all speaking English.
and coming back to the topic where the thread started, wives trying to convert dollar to rupee....... i must admit that though i never used to do it initially (infact i used to compare a $5 to Rs5/- and overspend, thinking that they sell cool stuff at great rates here), but lately i have started to do it where clothes r concerned, since there have been such a glut of Indian clothes, jewellery and shoes in the market.
and the best part is that most of us know that the thing which they r probably selling for $60, is worth just maybe Rs500/-
my husband also keeps saying "forget abt it", but i always cringe when i want to buy an Indian skirt or a top. so if there r people (read wives) who feel the same way i do, then the best option is to ask someone who is going to India to do some shopping for u (if u urself r not going to India anytime soon), or better still, ask ur parents/in-laws to send u some stuff through courier. i did that. u get a great wardrobe at half the price in which u'll probably buy ten pieces of clothes or shoes (courier charges included).

Riba.. maybe I didn't put across my veiw in a good way... all I want to say is in order to gain respect you must give respect.. coz sometimes we find it easier to just blame people for calling us names.. not realising that we do the same.
Theres no further explaination that I would like to give on this one.
