Hi,

Me & my mother are planning to go to US for 3-4 weeks to attend some Workshop. We don't have any relatives there.

My father is not accompanying us. He is retired from govt service.
Would they consider it negative that father is not accompanying
and my mother is going with me? What should be the answer if VO
asks us the reason? He is not very keen interested in attending
those workshops and there are other reasons too. Should we
tell VO the exact reasons.

I am unmarried and don't have any property back here on my name.
But I am working in a software MNC. And will be sponsoring the trip
(will show the bank statements/investment proofs etc).

How can I show my strong ties with India?

Last year I went for interview alone and my visa got rejected
Reason given - I am a potential immigrant (i thought the main reason
was I didn't go with my mother and I am in software industry).

In whatever the posts,I have seen.....everybody goes to visit
their family members (either sons/or daughters/brother/sisters).

But ours is a different case. Any special points to be kept in mind.
Could you please give me some suggestions.

Hey,
Make sure that you take the leave letter you applied for your company. Secondly if possible show them that you have to come back and join after your leave. Most of the companies now have a bond, take it if you have it.
Taking your mom and leaving father behind id not that good a reason.
What you can quote is you are the only financial support your family has got as your father is retired and tell them strongly that you have to come back and look after them.
That should be one strong reason on your side.
All the very best
