Hi,

My parents visa appt. is next week in Chennai. I have sent them all the papers except bank account verification letters since they did not reach me in time. But I have already sent them my bank statements for the past 6 months.

My question is do my parents need to carry the original letters from the banks or can I scan or fax them a copy. I am worried if there will be any delay in the documents reaching them.

If a copy is fine then I am thinking of scanning and emailing the letters so that they can take a print out of it.

Thanks for your help.

Fax copy should be fine.

Hello you dont even need the fax copy. My inlaws attended the interview at chennai consulate on Oct 31st and got 10 year multiple entry and i didnt even send the bank letter since the bank letter was showing average bank balance over the last one year which was low.so I just send the bank statement for the last month.

so u dont need to worry bt that.

hi,
i agree with akannan but not all times. In certain cases thery ask for the letter in particular. So y take chances. Its better to send it with the other docs.

all the best

cheers,

Fax copies are accepted at consulates. I had the same problem (bank letter arrived very late) and I faxed a copy. Parents got visa without any issues.

Good luck!!
