Duty on Computers

Hi !
Has anyone taken a computer as a gift to India? What is the duty like? Any suggestions to circumvent the duty?

Advise :
Instead of a complete computer, take the mother borad and carry the receipt of that.
Any thing worth less the 12000Rs is FREE of duty.
now a days Motherbords are less then 200$
Also,
Do check out the Customs page given on this website.There are some additional Duty free clauses for Computer etc.
