Are the Tax papers necessary of US employer necessary. My US employer is not giving tax returns of the firm since he says the company is not a public listed company and these things are confidential and if embassy needs they anyways have access to these papers.
He says I can share just payroll records of the employees. Have 16 employees all in all. Will it suffice for VISA officers? I have photographs of the company. Company has web site.

Since the company is small, the VO might ask for TAX returns....

This document is asked for many applicants... You cannot argue with the VO... otherwise you might end up with a 221g for you returns document

Tax returns are confidential information/data for non-public/private companies. So they wont give it to employees(again it depends on company to company). VO might or might not ask for tax returns of your company, if he asks for tax returns you can tell him/her what your employer has told you and you can show him the company photographs(hope you have company photographs).

You can ask your employer to send the tax return document in a sealed envelope to you and can write it on the envelope that it has to be opened by VO only. Even if he doesnt send it just go with what you have, many aspirants who dont have tax returns just show the company photographs and convince VO. Still if VO insists on tax return ask you employer to send it to you, this is worst case scenario.
