i would like to know if there is a way to send rs from india
and get it convered to dollar here.

or is there a way fro non nri to convert rupees to dollar
from india and send the check to the united states

In India, Anyone can go to a nearby SBI, & they'll take the rupee & Give you a Dollar Draft/check. The amount will be equal to the current day exchange rate, which SBI is giving. Send it by registered post to US.
